Night Out Berry Lip

My day to day make up is pretty neutral, I like to have a subtle, fresh, clean look but when it comes to a night out with the girls out comes the colour and a more vamp look.

I love a bold lip for evening it instantly glams up a look here is how I got this subtle smokey eye and berry lip.

make up used:

Foundation: No7 stay perfect in calico £10.99 for once I have a slight tan so could use this foundation ( happy dance)
Mascara: Boots natural collection build long lash £1.99 ( THE BEST MASCARA IVE EVER USED)
Highlighter: Soap and Glory luminizing radiance face powder
Chubby stick: Collection 3 vintage rose
Eye shadow: makeup revolution redemption palette iconic 2  I've numbered 1- 3 in order of use
    Eyebrow pencil: Rimmel light brown
    Concealer: collection 1 fair
    Blush: Estee Lauder pink kiss
lipstick: collection gothic glam 3 revenge
   shimmer brick: 17

How I created this look

1,   I moisturised, then apply my foundation this one is great as its build able, I only use 2 pumps max as I like my skin to show through.

2, I swept the soap and glory luminizing face powder over my cheeks and then to add a more shimmer look I added the shimmer brick by 17.

3, I applied a touch of my Estee Lauder pink kiss to the apples of my cheeks and swept it to the tops of my cheeks.

4, I applied my eye shadow I used shadow one all over my lid up to the brow of my eyebrow and in the tear duct area to brighten my inner eyes, two I used on the outer corner of my eye bringing it half way into the crease of my eyelid and bringing it half way along my bottom lashes blending to make sure there's no harsh lines adding the third colour on the outer corner to give more depth..

5 and 6 I applied two coat of mascara to the top and bottom lashed and applied my gothic glam lipstick to finish the look.

Diet Pills

There was a heart breaking story of a beautiful young woman Ella Parry 21 who sadly passed away after taking diet pills she bought on line.

Ella had battled with an eating disorder, though she was a healthy weight the illness made her strive to lose more a decision that she deeply regretted.

The diet pills Ella bought had DNP in a, drug that shouldn't be consumed, Ella took 8 pills soon realising that she had made a big mistake. she sacred herself worried what she had done she went to hospital where she found out that the pills were shutting down her body. she sent a finale text to her family and friends saying she had done a stupid thing and she was sorry she new they were going to kill her.

With in hours Ella was dead, a vibrant young woman no longer living because of her want to be slimmer. we have this pressure to be skinny, to be perfect being skinny isn't worth losing your life your family and friends having to say good bye to you and try and live a life without you.

We all want to look our best, be the best version of ourselves we can be we try fad diets, pills that say they will take the fat away and try the new craze fitness trend that will have us looking like our idol celebrity.

I have previously talked about my struggles with an eating disorder, in the past trying so many things to be slim. I can tell you the old saying "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is a LIE.

I would go to bed wondering if I would wake up the next day, I was always an active person but I couldn't do the basic everyday things like go to college with the lack of energy. I always thought if only I was a few pounds lighter my life would be better, I would be happy but it doesn't work like that.

If your only ever worried about your weight and how you look you cant enjoy life, your putting everything on hold until your at that IDEAL WEIGHT that you probably could never be as its unrealistic.

Its such a lonely life wanting to be skinny, you shouldn't spend your life worrying what the scales say, it doesn't matter what diet you do to be skinny its not some think you can sustain.

You shouldn't want to be skinny, don't compare your body to celebrity's we all have different shaped bodies and come in different sizes, to be the best you you can be and sustain it is to eat healthy don't skip meals eat 3 healthy meals a day if you skip meals your body holds onto fat as it doesn't no when its going to get food again.

Your body needs food to function, its needs good healthy fuel to do the basic of tasks treat it with respect you only have one body if you treat it kindly it will do all the things you want it to do go travelling, play sports e the amazing you you want to be your body is your friend not your enemy.

Mini Manchester Haul

After reading Lucy in the sky a month or so ago and fell for Paige Toon's writing style, I had to go and buy some more of her books I cant wait to turn the pages of these:)  these are from water stones

if you looked in my wardrobe you would notice I love a good basic top, when  I saw this top in H+M for£7.99 I was drawn to the colour, its a beautiful emerald green the perfect basic top to pair with     jeans and a cozie knit in Autumn Winter yes I just mentions A/W its just around the corner.
When it has come to jeans I have always been a skinny low rise woman, after being persuaded to try high waisted skinnies I'm now converted these are from Newlook £22.99 they are so comfortable hug your body and are a bargain the only thing I would say is that the colour comes out a lot in the wash

Lastly I bought this blouse from Primark for £10, it is it a two layer top navy on the top white on the bottom and its lower at the back perfect for me as it goes past my bottom. I'll pair this this with the above skinnies, leather jacket and ankle boots.

Manchester Weekend Away Seeing Bette Midler

My childhood dream came true over the weekend, I finally got to see Bette Midler in concert but it was more than a concert. she is a true performer giving a comedic element to her show with her amazing voice singing her old classics wind beneath my wings and re made songs like TLC chasing water falls it was an epic two hours. I have been to many concerts and I have never been seen someone be on stage that long full of energy the whole way through it will stay with me forever.

Bette had a great understanding of social media and every ones fascination with posting nude pics of them selves she made a lot of rude jokes that had us all belly laughing

hocus pocus will forever be one of my favourite movies so i was over the moon when she did the song from the film I'm so excited for the sequal to come out.

When it comes to summer, I want a fresh, bright, dewy look without that much product.
Here is how I achieved this look.

I used the rimmel primer  mixed with my foundation I always use Bourjois Paris healthy serum

I then used the no17 shimmer brick sweeping it over the tops of my cheeks and my temples, the adding blush from the Makeup revolution  palette

I did my eye using makeup revolution no1 shadow as the base all over my eyes then no2 on the inner corner and then blended no3 on the outer and in the creaze of my eye lid for a day time golden smoky eye look to the bottom lashes too to give it that smoky look the final shadow no4 on the outer corner to give it added dimention. finishing the eyes with one layer of mascara on the bottom lashes and two on the top and putting a highlighter under my brow and in the corner of my eye.

lastly I used no7 lipstick

Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer Review

I'm one of those who has to have a primer, I see a complete difference to my makeup how it wears throughout the day when I use it to when I don't use it my makeup doesn't stay in in place for as long.

I have been an avid lover of the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique primer, it is beautiful a light sheer primer that works well on my skin, saying that I wanted a change see what else was out there and then I came across the Rimmel lasting finish primer.

I have now been using it for a month nearly,  how I use it probably isn't the way it was intended to be used, but with all primers I use I mix it in with my foundation. 1, because I cant find a foundation that matches my skin tone as I'm so pale and by mixing a primer in gives me the right colour for myself 2, because I find it has a better finish for me personally everyone is different its about what works for you and your skin.

I use a little more than a pea size amount mix it in with a little of my foundation and apply it using my fingers, I find applying foundations with my fingers though the experts say that the oils in the fingertips changes the foundation I have always found it easier, it sinks into my skin giving me a more natural over all look.

Overall I have really enjoyed using this product it is a seal at £4.95, it does the job its meant to do and gives you the long lasting makeup we all crave for and want.

I would recommend this product.

Let me know what you think of it if you have or decide to try it out

Have a great day

My Open University Experience

corporate logo

For the past 3 years I have been studying with the open university, those who aren't from the UK though it is in many countries around the world its where you get your degree online but also have classes in actual universities too once a month.

I am studying a BA honours in business studies its this time next year I will be graduating, in total I'm doing 9 modules ranging from level one which is entry level then level 2 and the final level 3.

I have been doing 2-3 modules a year usually starting in October and April time modules range in price with each level from £450-£1125 at the higher levels. they also change price depending which country you live in even though England and Wales are in the UK both may pay different amounts
.
As I earn under £16000 I get to have most of my modules paid for me and I get a course grant on top of that which is around £1000 for the year.

How it works a few weeks before the modules start you get the text books delivered to you, you get a online student account are given a tutor and a group of students that you will be interacting with on your module. there are several tutor groups for the module you do and you can interact with other student tutor groups in the student online cafe as they call it asking questions etc on several of the modules I have done there's been a facebook group setup nothing to do with the OU them selves just students who want to chat more and get a better understanding of the module its been really helpful every ones really supportive of each other and you can ask the  dumb questions you may not feel like asking on the OU site its self.

On the modules I've been doing I've done 2-6 TMA tutor marked assessments over the 6 months which are essays and reports based on the book you have been studying and then you either have an EMA end of module assessment online they give you questions you do an essay or report and then email it your tutor and other people mark it or you do an exam in person at a location closet to you.

Tutors have been hit and miss for me they don't do it as a full time job so some of mine have been hard to contact they don't really have an interest in how students do and there's not much interaction with them and others have been really helpful at the end of the phone when you need them and encouraging.

Pros

* If your earning under 16kyou can get most of your degree paid for you no debt when you leave that's a big plus for me.

* Great online support from other students

* You cant fit it around work so earning at the same time

Cons

* Tutors are hit and miss some are great some not so much

* With studying at home on your own it is hard to find the motivation and time

I  hope this has given you a little insight to the open university I will pop their link below so you can go check it out if you are interested and if you have any questions for me pop them in the comments below and I will answer them.

Thanks for stopping by
