whats in my bag aumtumn/winter addition

In the Autumn Winter months what's in my bag changes out comes the sunglasses, sun tan lotion and time to pack what I need for the colder months.

In my bag I have lip balm to protect my lips from the cold it has an SPF 15 in it too, as though the sun isn't shinning your lips still need protecting.

Gloves and a hat, you never know from one minute to the next when its going to get cold, so I always have these in my bag just in case I love my fingerless gloves means I can read my book without my hands getting too cold you can get them from Primark for £2. I'm currently reading the island so far its a really great book based on a true story.

I have too have my favourite lipstick to top up during the day this is Gothic glam revenge 3 a lovely berry lipstick and only £2.59 from collection.

With the wind in my hair and lets face it hat hair I need a brush in my bag instead of a giant one that takes up too much room I bought this small pop up brush with a mirror is so tinny but does the job and I have long hair it was a barging at only £1 from Wilkinson.

The biggest must have for me is tissues, either my nose is running from the cold wind or my eyes are watering from the same thing, so these are the  most essential thing in my bag.

The essentials purse, keys, mobile and headphones.

My bag is from Matalan it was £6 I bought it about 4 years ago.

I love a good quote and when I saw this on pinterest it got me thinking. when we don't like our selves or an aspect of our selves instead of us looking within and trying to fix it we turn that hate on to others and point out their flaws and make them feel bad about themselves.

What we should be doing is looking within, we have the power to change what we don't like, why make someone else feel bad when we could be using that energy to make our selves fell and be a better person.

brand review makeup revolution london

when it comes to make up I spend the most money on my foundation, I like it to be good quality as it the first thing going on my skin and I find the better the foundation the nicer the rest of your make up looks.

As I like to spend a little less on blusher, eye shadows etc I was in superdrug and came across this brand I hadn't seen before, makeup revolution London I bought a eye shadow palett to try it out as it was only £4 bargain right.

I took them home tried them out and loved them they were creamy, went on well lasted for hours were as some cheaper ones tend to wear off. The only thing they were slightly harder to blend but still blended well with a great look at the end of it.

So I had to buy more this is what I bought;

This pallet was £4 such a great price, they are really pigmented even though 2 are glittery they will be great for summer.

This is such a pretty pearly highlighter it just gives you that sheen a natural glow to the skin which is extra amazing on my pale white skin.

This pallet is looking a little used as I have wore it most days for the last month, there are 3 Matt shadows and the rest are metallic they aren't a wow foil look on the eye they are really subtle adding dimension to the look. this was only £4

I really wanted a good neutral pallet and this fitted the bill, like the first pallet they are mostly metallic but wearable for the day, as I've been going for a more bold berry lip I have been using this pallet just to have a clean basic eye and let the lip stand out they blend well and last at least 8 hours without replying and I have been wearing them in the wind and rain so have held up well.

I would recommend this brand, its affordable to anyone I had a deal of buy 2 get 3rd free, so go check them out and let me know what you think, I will be doing a look using them soon.

At Home DIY Lighting

I was looking for a way of adding more relaxed, soft lighting to my living room, but didn't see anything in the shops I liked I wanted something different. I had this lantern I bought from www.sainsburys.co.uk for £10 on sale and used that for my inspiration.


This is a simple thing to do, i bought rose lighting flowers on string wire, and put it through the gap in the top of the lantern. its that simple it adds a different affect than having a normal lap I use it in my living room and as a table light in my bedroom.

The Fault In Our Stars

First a bit about my reading back ground

When it comes to books I'm not your typical book worm, I wasn't the child that always had my nose in a book, though I looked as If I would with my big pink glasses but no that wasn't me.
I have never been a fan of reading, I was a slow reader when I was growing up not stupid slow but took my time to read what I was reading. I hated reading out loud when the teacher would say "Laura can you please read the next age to the class" I would politely decline.
It completely turned me off reading altogether, I'm ashamed to say I cant remember a single book I have read as a child other than university books I haven't read a book in 15 years I know shocking.

It wasn't until a couple of months ago that I started to read, only because my laptop ran out of battery and I had no other technology to use as I had builders in my house doing work. I picked up a book my mum had been reading written by James Patterson, my mum is the typical book worm always reading I never understood why as I always thought its so boring and you should just watch a movie.

That day of not being able to use technology changed my life it opened my world up to, characters that touched my heart that made me angry and made me see life in a different way it opened me up to a exciting new world that adventures are boundless.

my review

When a book is so hyped up you don't think it can live up to what you think it will be, but this book will rip your heart out and feeling like its being stomped on by Issac like the trophies in the book.
Gus and Hazel are weird, quirky, intellectual, talk like no other teenager you will have ever met, who meet in the most extra ordinary way in a support group who love nothing more than to play video games where he can save her and talk about a book and the universe and what life means who have cancer but they draw you into the book.
you fall in love with them both and hoping and wishing they could have the happy ending, but in a way they do.

Though their lives are cut short they have the most amazing few months together, its the best thing that happened to hazel when her mother makes her go to the support group she finds the love of her life loses her virginity and has a wonderful romantic dream trip to Amsterdam.
Its nice to see in a book that a young couple in love aren't shown in a childish way, it is the real know matter your age you will want to find this kind of love I know I do, I want to find my Gus that will leave his scar on me and wouldn't mind me leaving mine on him.
Though they are dying of cancer its not completely depressing, it doesn't depict the cancer as this evil thing it just sucks to have that its just life shit happens and you have to roll with what you have got in life they make the most of the precious time they have together.

Its sad to say I'm jealous of these characters yes their lives are short they didn't get to have many years together to have children  themselves but the fact they found a love that is real, makes your stomach have butterflies your heart skip a beat when she saw his crooked smile and amazing adventure in Amsterdam some don't find that when they live to 100, so in that way they are lucky.

What I learnt from this book is that's life cruel the universe doesn't owe us anything the day we are born we are not granted so many years and then that's your lot, we aren't granted the next breath so be grateful for what you get and chose those who can leave a scar on you wisely.

If you want to cry, laugh, fall in love with amazing characters, see life from a different perspective read this it will get you thinking and seeing things in a different way, I was sad to finish this book and say good bye to
