The thigh gap

Over the last year I have seen and heard a lot about the thigh gap trend woman wanting zero fat on their thighs so you can see through it.
The thigh gap its an unattainable thing to have only naturally very slim girls can have it, we see these images and think that's what we need our bodies need to be like but it doesn't.

As a 28 year old woman I have had my hang ups about my body, I had anorexia from the age off 11 till 20 ended up in hospital and put myself and my mum through hell from wanting to be so small I have learnt a lot going through that horrible experience.
As woman we are always comparing ourselves to other woman next to us on the bus, magazines our friends we waste so much of our life thinking of what we hate about our bodies, if effects every aspect of our short lives.

It took me a long time to realise I will never look like Jessica Alba or any other person, every single woman is built in a completely different way no matter how much we starve ourselves or how many hours in the gym will make us look like someone else, we have to look with in and like our selves for who we are and what we have been given, as woman we will never like every part of our bodies mine is my toes they look like monster much crisps if your from the UK you will no what they are and I have wide hips and I dislike my lips but I cant change any of it so why worry about it.

Work with the strengths you were given we all have them mines my eyes, my bubble butt and slim waist by highlighting your best  features you will feel more confident and those areas you like less you will begin maybe not love but like and not worry about them.

So stop comparing yourself to others live a healthy life eat right work out and enjoy life, you only have one life after all and one body, the body is an amazing thing no matter what shape size it is its giving you the ability to live another day with those you love and experience things you wouldn't be able to if you didn't have your body so be kind to it and love it.

Barry M Gelly nail polish

I don't need to tell you how much I'm obsessed with Barry m polishes, a couple of weeks ago I bought my first pastel nail polish from their Gellly range.

I purchased the colour prickly pear it is easy to applying you will need 2- 3 coats with no top coat as it is extra shinny it is hard wearing I have been wearing mine for 4 days and have no chipping, the colour is vibrant a lilac with a hint of blue it is such a pretty colour I cant wait to get more of their pastel range.

mini primark haul

The sun had finally come out in wales and so I popped into Primark to get a few things for summer to brighten up my wardrobe. I go in and out of love with Primark sometimes I can spend a fortune and other times just get a couple of things that's what happened on this occasion here is what I bought.

I bought this pretty lace top in a really pretty green not normally my colour but I loved that it was pastel and made me feel all summery. I am going to team a camisole top and jeans and some cute sandals . £4

I love this t-shirt it has short sleeves it is also the same green colour as the lace top it has an over size feel so comfy and airy for the summer I will pair it with the necklaces that I bought also and jeans or denim short for an effortless summer outfit. £4

When it comes to jewellery I like more delicate dainty jewellery  when  bought these I thought they were all attached together but they are single necklaces which is better as you have 4 looks from one set and they were only £1.50 for the 3 bargain

This is a long necklace with a pretty feather its a great piece to layer with my other necklace without looking bulky.

I have such a problem with earring that's why i hardly ever wear them I have such tinny ears that even a stud can be too heavy and way down my ear lob and when I saw these I new I just had to have them they are dainty light and come in a great range for £1.50 sadly one pair was broke but still great 8 pairs for £1.50 cant go wrong.

midi skirt

Midi skirt addicted

I have to admit the only skirts I usually wear are mini but this spring/ summer I have fallen in love with the full midi skirt. They have been my new addiction, its such an easy piece to wear I like to team mine with a crop top as the higher waist of the skirt doesn't show off to much tummy.
Its such a staple for me for Summer as I can wear it in the day with sandals or a wedge then dress it up with a heel for an evening out with the girls.

Here are a few of my favourites from wwww.asos.com I think I live on this site :)

my skin care routine

My skin care routine

For me when it comes to beauty related things if it takes along time to do I wont be doing it, I have little time like most and so I want to do a routine that is quick, simple and I see results my routine takes me 5 minutes max.

For my skin I have normal to a tinny bit dry on nose and my forehead in between my eyes, all but one of the products I use are the brand simple I've been using it for years I have very sensitive skin so I have found this brand perfect for  my skin.

The first product I use is the cleaning lotion it takes off all the dirt and make up from my skin leaving it fresh and clean then I use the toner it makes my skin feel so yummy in the summer I put it in the fridge and it is cooling on the skin it brings your skin back to a healthy pH level.

For the day time I use the 12 hour moisturiser but in the evening I use the Palmer's oil I really helps even out my skin, I have a few scares from childhood where I feel into a BBQ it wasn't lit thankfully and fell off my bike also I had a door drop on my head long story  I was a very accident prone child and the oil really helps it also helps for acne scars.

Once a week I will use a face scrub as I do have sensitive skin I use one that the particles and to harsh and take off way to many layers of skin the simple one has just enough strength to take of the dead and dry skin to leave my skin healthy and glowing.

My hair care routine

My hair care routine

My hair care is simple I have  long hair it is normal but can tend to get dry on the ends, I do use a semi perm dye every 3 months or so,  its not that different to my normal hair colour which is mid brown, I only use it as it gives my hair an extra shine when it not looking so great it just gives it and extra boost.

I wash my hair twice a week as it does dry out you don't need to wash your hair every day as you wash your natural oils from your hair stripping it of all the goodness it needs to stay healthy every other day is fine to do I  use dry shampoo for those days I work out so my hair isn't all sweaty no one want sweaty hair in between washes there are so many great dry shampoos out there.

I use herbal essence shampoo and conditioner of which it is beautiful ends it smells so good and leaves my hair so silky and protects the ends of your hair from splitting.
once a week I use a hair mask to give it an extra condition herbal essence bee strong you leave it on for few minutes and rinse if I'm being lazy I leave it on for half an hour it makes my hair look so healthy and shinny after using it and easier to manage.
as a finishing touch I use loreal hair oil you can use it before shampooing and after drying a little goes along way I only use 2 pumps and run it through the mid to ends of my hair after twice a week you don't need to use it every day as it lasts for days if your not washing your hair every day.
all these products were bought in www.boots.com

The miracle hat

The miracle hat

This isn't a hat but its the perfect hat may sound (overly dramatic) , for so long I have been trying to find a hat for summer when they say one size fits all no it doesn't.
I have such a small head for the average female adult trying on every hat hoping it would fit like Goldy locks, either they were too big or too small (trying on children's) hats yes I sunk that low, I just could not find a hat that didn't spin on my head from being too loose.
I was determined to find one for this summer and who new I would find it whilst going food shopping in Sainsbury's.
There I was just going along the isle of the clothing department and I saw the hats hanging up i thought might as well give them ago.
2 out of the 3 were just way too big I'm pretty sure they were made for a giant of which I am not, I tried on the last hat having lost all hope I was just destined not to have a hat EVER other than a beanie not exactly practical for summer, I gave the hat a go and to my amazement it actually fitted it was a hat miracle.
I'm now looking forward to the summer to show of what took me years to find though I probably should have stocked up on them as it was only £8 think that's the plan for when I go back :).

It's my birthday and I'll cry if i want to

Being a child I loved my birthday just like any normal kid presents, cake what's not to love until the dreaded double digit birthday. As soon as I hit 10 I hated the fact I was getting older, I would cry most years when family and friends would sing happy birthday partly because I hated the attention but mostly because I hated getting  another year older (I have peter pan syndrome).

Like most no matter how old I get with each year I still feel like a teenager even now just turning 28 years old, but my mind set has slightly changed though I don't love getting older losing a few childhood friends has made me see my birthday and ageing in a different way.

When you lose someone you no know matter who parent, grandparent friend or how close you were you see life in a different way, it was a shock losing friends who I have known since I was 4 years old you realise life is short you don't no what's around the corner.

Where as before I would hate getting another year older now I am feeling it is a privilege to be making another year that my friends never got to see. It makes me sad they never reached the age I am each year I wonder what they would be doing, the people they would be becoming  so as I turn another year older I smile that I am still here seeing another beautiful sunset, laughing with friends and family and achieving my dreams but taking a minute to think of those who I have lost along the way but still keep in my heart being grateful for every moment that life gives me.

Though I still have a peter pan complex I will no longer cry for getting older, but smile that I'm still here to enjoy the day with those who I love.
